In the late 1990s, during the spring months, a group of friends shared a spacious old flat in a charming part of Madison. As they settled into their new home, they couldn’t anticipate the unusual events that would unfold within its walls.
One day, while alone in the kitchen, the clatter of dishes was interrupted by a loud sigh behind one of the housemates. Expecting to find Joelle, another friend, who frequently visited, the housemate turned around. To their surprise, no one was there. Bewildered, they checked every corner of the house, only to confirm that they were indeed alone, and the front door remained securely locked.
As time passed, more inexplicable incidents began to occur. During a weekend trip away, the housemate’s absence seemed to puzzle Tom, one of their friends. Tom and Joelle recalled seeing someone resembling the absent housemate walking between their room and the kitchen, even though it was dark, and everyone else was out of town. The eerie encounter left them all feeling a bit uneasy.
In the solitude of the computer room or bedroom, the residents often heard the distinct sound of heavy footsteps pacing across the creaky wooden floor in the dining room. Initially attributing these noises to Eric Jon’s penchant for wearing heavy boots indoors, the realization that they were alone in the flat when these sounds occurred sent shivers down their spines. What they thought were the actions of their fellow housemates turned out to be inexplicable phenomena.
Gradually, a pattern emerged: the occurrences within the flat seemed to mimic the actions and routines of its occupants. The house appeared to retain memories of past activities, replaying them in an eerie and unsettling manner.
As they grappled with these paranormal experiences, the friends couldn’t help but wonder if the old flat harbored echoes of its past, a spectral reminder of the lives once lived within its aging walls.
